We are especially interested in making all our patients feel right at home! We treat patients like family and put your needs first to achieve efficient and comprehensive treatment. We all have worked together from 4 years to 34 years and enjoy what we do. Our staff is trained and skilled, and we strive to provide energetic and fun-loving service to each patient. Each member of our treatment team is a registered assistant, and our office staff has years of experience in treating patients with the highest level of care. We attend numerous meetings ranging from the American Association of Orthodontists annual meeting to Orthodontic office retreats with offices from around the country to software training seminars to stay up with the latest advances in the field of orthodontics.
Ann -I have enjoyed working with the Kavanaugh family in the field of orthodontics for over 24 years. Being a member of the staff has opened many doors for friendship and community involvement. I have always lived in the greater Kansas City area and still reside in Kansas City North with my son, Dillon, a 2011 graduate of Staley High School. I enjoy absolutely anything having to do with travel, especially to tropical destinations where I can scuba dive. I come from a large famly of rowdy Italians and we stay very close and like to catch up with each other often.
Rita - I've had the opportunity to work with Dr. Kurt and his great staff for over 6 years and now consider them "my family". My position as Account Manager involves handling accounts receivable, insurance, filing and numerous miscellaneous functions along with the opportunity to interact with the patients and parents. I have lived and worked in the Kansas CIty North area for 45 years. I'm blessed to have a great family and two awesome grandchildren, my pride and joy. I enjoy taking care of my home, traveling, warm weather and spending time with my family and friends.
Tammy - I am an Expanded Functions Certified Orthodontic Assistant in the state of Missouri. I have been Certified since 2001. I am originally from Iowa, but have lived in the Kansas City Northland for about 20 years. I now reside in Liberty, Missouri. I have two wonderful daughters, an adorable little grandaughter and a handsome little grandson. I love spending time with my family. I enjoy camping, biking, traveling to see family and traveling to sunny beaches. Staying close with family and friends is very important to me.
Tonya - I have been an Expanded Functions Certified Orthodontic Assistant in the state of Missouri since 2004 and have worked with the Kavanaugh family since 2002. Kansas City has been my home for most of my life. I have a dog and two cats and am a huge animal lover. Spending my free time doing things such as mountain biking, camping, traveling, and being with my family and friends are all very important. I like to stay active and lead a healthy lifestyle. I enjoy the field of Orthodontics for many reasons, but I most enjoy seeing the end result in our patients. Seeing each patient with a new, confident smile is especially rewarding.
Carol - I have had the privilege of working with Dr. Kurt for the past 29 years. I am currently the Patient Coordinator and a certified Expanded Functions Orthodontics Assistant. It is very rewarding to see the end results - “beautiful smiles”. I am married, six children (four boys, two girls) two grandsons and 3 grandaughters who keep me very busy. I love to golf, snow ski, garden, and enjoy traveling to the beaches and mountains. I find donating time to Global Orphan Project (a mission established by my brother that provides care for orphans in third world countries) to be most rewarding. My seven brothers and sisters, co-workers and Golf girls are considered part of my large extended family. I enjoy the holidays and the large gatherings they provide.
Jo Ann - I have worked in orthodontics since 1989. I became certified in Expanded Functions in April, 2001. I have three beautiful daughters and have been married to a wonderful husband since 1981. I love to travel, scuba dive, and do anything that involves the ocean or beach, I also love to cook and work out in the yard. I come from a large family and enjoy our big family gatherings.
Helen - Working in the Orthodontic world has been a wonderful adventure and learning experience for me. New to this job since July of 2008, I have really enjoyed becoming part of this working family. I have been an Administrative Assistant in education for 18 years. Born and raised in Lawson, Missouri, I'm still close to my roots. I have four children, one girl and three boys and two grandchildren, one of which was adopted from China and she has Na Na wrapped around her finger. I love spending time with my family and cooking for everyone. Working and volunteering for Special Needs children and adults is very important to me.
Kelley - I am an Expanded Functions Orthodontic Assistant. I have worked in orthodontics since 2003. I was born in Georgia and lived there until June of 2008 when my family and I moved to Missouri. I am married and have one son and one daughter. We also have a family pet dachshund named Sassy. My hobbies are cooking, working in my yard, and spending time with my family.
Autumn - I have worked in Orthodontics since 1996, and became Expanded Functions Certified in 1999. I am originally from Lathrop, Missouri, but now live in the Northland with my husband and 2 sons. I enjoy cooking for my family and friends, and love to travel to beaches anywhere. It is very rewarding being part of the Kavanaugh team and changing lives by creating beautiful smiles.
Shianne- I received my Dental Assistant Certification after graduating from the Dental Assisting School of Utah in 2009. I started working with Dr. Kurt Kavanaugh in July, 2011 and am thrilled to be working with him and his wonderful team. I have been married to my wonderful and supportive husband for over three years. We have two handsome boys that keep us on our toes! I cherish every moment I spend with each one of them!
