Dr. Kurt is a graduate of the University of Missouri at Kansas City, where he received his dental degree in 1986.

He received his Masters degree and certificate in orthodontics from the University of Minnesota in 1988.

In 1996, UMKC school of dentistry named Dr. Kurt its Young Alumnus of the Year.
